Example request
curl -s "https://api2.globus.studio/v2/url-clean?url=https://globus.studio/?utm_source=demo"
A link copied from an ad, a newsletter or a social post carries more parameters than the page needs. This endpoint removes the tracking set, sorts what is left and returns the removed names, so a link can be cleaned before it reaches a document, a redirect or a canonical tag.
curl -s "https://api2.globus.studio/v2/url-clean?url=https%3A%2F%2Fglobus.studio%2F%3Futm_source%3Dx%26a%3D1"
What gets removed
Every utm_* parameter goes, along with fbclid, gclid, dclid, gbraid, wbraid, yclid, msclkid, the Twitter and TikTok click ids, the Mailchimp pair, the HubSpot pair, the Olytics pair, and the pk_* campaign set. The full list is on the documentation page. Anything else stays unless it is named in the remove parameter.
The response lists the names that were removed and whether the URL changed at all. A clean link returns changed: false, which is the check to run before writing a redirect.
Normalisation and limits
Scheme and host are lowercased, default ports are dropped, an empty path becomes /, and the query is sorted after filtering. The path itself is not rewritten: a trailing slash can change routing, and this endpoint does not guess.
No request is made and nothing is cached. The endpoint is pure string work and fits the highest rate tier at 180 requests per minute.
